Solutions to attract FDI into DVCH economic Zone in Hai phong, Vietnam in the context of intensifying international economic integration

Abstract

Dinh Vu–Cat Hai (DVCH) economic zone was established in 2008 with purpose of pushing up social-economic development of Hai Phong and creating momentum for social-economic development not only for Northern sea area and its vicinity, but also the whole of Red River Delta and major economic centres in the North. At present, DVCH economic zone has gradually been becoming a main territory for attracting FDI projects in the system of industrial zones and economic zones in Hai Phong, Vietnam. However,it is shown in practice that the activities for attracting FDI projects are facing up with many difficulties. The quantity and the quality of these FDI projects are not compatable with the potentials and the strategic position of DVCH economic zone. This article presents the current situation of FDI in DVCH economic zone, figures out some main achievements and difficulties, and suggests some basic solutions for pushing up activities to attract FDI to this economic zone…
